Liposuction is a cosmetic procedure which slims and reshapes parts of the body by removal of excess fat deposits. The procedure also includes improving the patient’s body contours and proportion. It can be done in the thighs, hips, buttocks, abdomen, waist, upper arms, back, inner knee, chest area, cheeks, chin, neck, calves, and ankles. However, despite what many believe, it is not a treatment for obesity, and it cannot treat cellulites.

Liposuction, however, has an added benefit. Lipomodeling, also known as fat-grafting and fat injection, is a procedure, where liposuction is performed to remove fat cells from the stomach, hips, and other fat-abundant areas. These fat are transferred to another part of the body that you want to be enlarged or add some volume to. One of the famous procedures under this is breast fat transfer.

“It's a win-win situation. Basically, we remove fat areas of fat excess and inject the fat to the breast area. Fat transfer to the breast does not give the same effect as breast implant. Most patients can expect about 1 size cup change. Sometimes, it may require multiple procedure as fat may sometimes be unpredictable. The good thing about multiple procedure is that you are loosing the unwanted fat from the abdomen, waistline or thighs. (Source)

Stomach Fat Can Cure Baldness in Just 6 Months!

A new study has developed a new method of stimulating hair follicles, and thus hair growth. The procedure involves injecting fat cells, removed from another part of the body through liposuction, into the scalp. The study has shown 93% increase in hair growth, and 23% increase in hair count. All these in just 6 months! Six patients underwent the treatment for the pilot study.

Dr. Edward Ball, one of the authors of the study, and his team believe that by adding more adipose tissues (tissues that store fats) to the scalp and around the hair follicles, hair growth will be stimulated. The adipose, enhanced with stem cells, were then injected to the scalp. Hair growth, hair thickness, and hair count all improved by 93%, 24%, and 23% respectively.

Dr. Bell said:

“Hair loss can affect men and women mentally and emotionally. Around 40 per cent of men have noticeable hair loss by the time theyre 35, which can cause real distress. I know this for a fact, as I went through that precise scenario myself, which is why any new methods of combating baldness are to be applauded and studied further. The autologous fat transplantation is exciting in many ways because it improves the growth of hair thats already there and thickens hair thats so fine its almost invisible. The other important thing to note is that autologous fat transplant has been shown to be well tolerated, as its been used for many years in other cosmetic surgery procedures to add volume to the face and breasts, in whats called ‘lipomodelling.” (Source
